Web Design Minot ND: Repair, Hosting and a Sensible Rebuild
What will fix my Minot website, what will the work cost, and who handles changes later? Those answers should come before a design pitch. Start with the pages your customers struggle to use, then weigh the repair work against a replacement quote.
The useful test is what a customer can do
Try finding your opening hours and phone number on a phone. Follow the route to a service page. A website may technically work while making each of those tasks a nuisance.
Slow loading needs investigation, too. Older software, an overloaded server and a poorly arranged page call for different work. A fresh design won't settle which caused the delay.
If the repair leaves you with a usable site, keep that option in the quote. Rebuilding becomes worth considering when the existing setup still gets in the way. The comparison should account for ongoing care as well as the first invoice.
Hosting comes with responsibilities
The hosting and support service should say who takes care of backups, security updates and faults. A plan called managed hosting doesn't answer those questions by itself.
You'll also want to know who handles content changes. Adding a new service and repairing a server are different jobs. Have the scope written down so a later request doesn't become a discussion about what everybody assumed.
Choose the site around the work it does
For a business showing its services and contact information, a semi-static site can keep the setup straightforward. That is the kind of new site I build. It is still a website that needs care, rather than something nobody ever checks again.
An existing WordPress site may be worth maintaining when you use its features. I support those sites, but don't build new WordPress ones. Store, booking or publishing requirements belong in the discussion before a platform gets picked.
Simple helps when it preserves the functions you use. Removing a feature you rely on would make the new site a poor bargain.
Keep email in the discussion
If business messages are rejected or land in spam, show whoever is handling the job what happens. The original setup may need its mail and domain records corrected. You shouldn't need to learn the names of those records before asking for help.
Include email in the handover plan when hosting changes. Make sure the destination inbox and the person responsible for it are clear.
Compare the work and the ongoing bill
Published pricing separates the build fee from ongoing care. New semi-static care has a different rate from existing WordPress support. The care rates are billed annually. Repairs have their own job quote.
Use that scope to compare costs. A lower initial price means little if you still don't know who will make the next change.
